Okay. So I know my theme changed and it’s pretty plain. I’m working on a new layout and plan to use the format here. So hope you all don’t mind the “dust” while I renovate.

I’d like to show some love to the commenters who came by my site through the Blog Mastermind forum. It’s cool that we’re all learning and connecting together through the mentoring program. I’m so excited to learn! It’s definitely going to be a challenge for me.

Just came back from a birthday dinner for my lil sis who turns 20 today. 20! Yeesh. Seriously, sometimes I can’t believe she’s getting older. She’s not the girl who always followed me around and always copied me. She’s graduating cosmetology school next month and ready for her career!

I know that we were never really very close over the years, but lately we’ve been talking a lot more and confiding in each other. I hope from here on in we’ll only get closer.

Saw this commercial this past weekend and was like, wtf?

Here’s another crazy thing I found, via digg… this dude witnessed a murder!

I don’t know about you, but I consider blogging like a hobby, and I’ve taken my hobby to the next level and really am getting to know the ins and outs of blogging and internet marketing. My goal one day is to totally make a living off it. I hate working for the man! Although I work for a small company and it’s nowhere near working for a corporation, I know that I can never ever work for a corporation. Too much politics, less leeway, so many technicalities… although bigger companies have better benefits, everything else I rather not deal with.

During the week I face a lot with work and I get drained! When I get home I continue on the internet reading articles, finding the best plugins for wordpress, and learning as much as I can. I know that one day I will be able to do this, but in order to do it the right way I know that I have to be patient, I have to be focused and keep myself interested.

I have decided that on the weekends, I will stay near but not as glued as I am on the weekdays to the internet, blogging and anything related. I feel kinda drained. And although I never thought I would do things like get pedicures and any sort of pampering, I’m actually going to get a pedicure today because, I deserve it!

BTW, I just upgraded wordpress to 2.2.1 - and if you’re a wordpress user, you might wanna consider it.  Lots of fixed bugs and major security fixes.  It didn’t take me long, really.

The movie, Freedom Writers has been on my counter for a while, my sister and her bf have been telling me to watch it and I finally did. I needed a break from the computer and all my blog researching. The movie is pretty recent and I really thought that it was kind of like a rip off of that movie Dangerous Minds (even though I never saw it), but since Patrick Dempsey was in it, I thought, why not? Haha.

Patrick Dempsey’s character was an ass!! I really like how the movie went, it really got me choked up during some parts. I’ll admit, I teared! The story is pretty much about this new teacher who teaches freshmen English for these “kids who don’t care about learning” according to the other teachers. But Hilary Swank’s character was determined to change that. And most of these kids feared their lives everyday and only lived to make it to the next. She changed that and made them realized that they could learn and be more.

At the end, I found out that it was a true story! And there is a book too, actually written by the kids she taught. So when I made my most recent Amazon order, I included it in. I don’t want to give anything away but I really think you should check it out.
