The Future and the Past.

So lately I’ve been thinking a lot about the future. And oddly enough the past as well. I kind of wish that I took advantage of living in NYC more when I was there. I guess that usually happens, well to me at least. I take things for granted a lot. But I really want to change that. I know that sometimes I can be really impatient about the future, but I have to make the most out of things I cannot do anything about. Sure, life isn’t always perfect and sometimes I feel like I want to pick up and leave but I have to realize where things come down to. I think way too much.

So that’s when having hobbies and taking up new hobbies come into play. And so far I’m enjoying it a lot! I feel lucky though. I have great people in my life and even though we’re not all close knit, it’s nice to know they’re there for me. And to me, that’s better than nothing.

I planned a short trip back up north next month and I’m excited. I can’t wait. I hope the weather is all autumny and I get to see my friends and family, and of course food and shopping! Counting down the days…

Workouts, Crafts and Hello Kitty

Wow, i haven’t written in here for a while!  I’ve honestly been really busy.  I have 3 blogs, including this one and 1 blog I help Glen out with, so it’s a lot of work.  AND, I’ve been working out more often these days too.  If you want an intense workout that makes you work, pick the Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred DVD.  It’s super killer!!  I see a difference in the way I look (not dramatic but it definitely shows) and with the way I’ve been eating these days, I’m on my way to living healthy, and hopefully losing some fat and gain some muscle (the toned kind).

Other than that, I’ve taken a liking to crafts and sewing.  Etsy is one of my favorite sites right now and seriously, it’s so inspiring knowing that people can be creative and share that with people, not to mention make some extra money in the process.  I really appreciate handmade and it’s making me lean toward buying only things handmade, since things are more unique that way.  I want to learn how to stencil on fabric and I took the big step and actually signed up for a sewing class which is this Saturday morning!  I’ll be learning how to actually use the thing my mom used to alter my pants and actually do it myself!  Gotta be more domestic, right?

Oh, and I got a lovely package in the mail from my fellow Hello Kitty Junkie, Maria, in the group’s gift exchange swap.  I love this stuff!  This totally made my day.

Weekends Are TOO Short.

So the weekend pretty much consisted of food, resting and movies.

Friday night Glen and I went by Deerfield Beach to get Reefs, which has become a thing we have done every year we’ve been together.  This is my 4th pair of Reef sandals, so we’ve almost been together for 4 years!  It’s kind of crazy to think that all this time has passed and we’re still together.  Don’t get me wrong, there are times when I feel really pessimistic but there’s no doubt in my mind about being with him. <3  We then went to this restaurant called JBs by the Beach and had dinner there, and I really regret going.  We should have just went to the pizza place that we knew wouldn’t let us down.  That’s what happens when you want to try something new!  I usually am always down for that but after this experience, I’m more inclined to look up reviews before trying a new restaurant.

Saturday, went by the beach to take a walk, and it was really hot out.  I was dying of heat and it was probably around 8am.  We had planned to see The Dark Knight in the afternoon but the IMAX tickets were sold out until the 10:40pm showing, so we ended up seeing the movie then, in its lateness.  I feel so old.  I had to take a nap before we left for the theater, and found myself falling asleep as we were going there.  Thankfully the movie didn’t make me fall asleep.  It was a great movie.  One thing I thought was weird:  Batman with a raspy voice.  I get that he was trying to cover up his voice, but I still thought it was weird.  Heath Ledger was great in it as the Joker and probably out did Jack Nicholson’s portrayal of Joker.  Wish that they went into the Joker’s character in the movie more.

Sunday was a lazy day.  Woke up around 11:30 and had brunch.  It was definitely a make your own food day today.  I think a lot of this weekend was all about food, as my life always revolves around trying to cook my own food and learn.  I think I’m getting the hang of it and I really enjoy it.  It’s nice to know the food I’m eating was made by me and even better when others enjoy what I make.  I made a simple dinner - Penne with Chicken in a Roasted Garlic Alfredo Sauce.  Seriously.  So easy to make.  Glen even took some home for his lunch tomorrow.  I also made a tuna salad in spinach for lunch tomorrow as well.  Oh, I also worked out today which I was surprised I had the energy and drive to.  Going to start training for a race in October, so I gotta get back on the exercise horse!

Weekends are seriously WAY too short.

Vegas Was Hot!

…literally!  I will never go to Vegas during this time of year again.  But it was definitely a nice vacation, spent with my love.  We did a lot of work the first 2 days and the rest of the time eating and walking around.  We even got to see the Hoover Dam which was crazy because it was so hot.  Took a bunch of pictures, so check them out on my Flickr!

For my next little getaway, I really want to go up to NYC since I didn’t get to go when I had planned to, but I’ll wait til the weather gets cooler up there before going.  I’m really aiming for sometime in October or November, so we’ll see!  I miss my friends up north a LOT, get stuff that I can’t get down here in FL (certain food and restaurants) and I want to go karaoke!! :) Gotta save up, so I won’t have to worry so much about money and just have fun.

But yeah, other than that, it’s good to be back home and back to normalcy.

The Weather Where I’ll Be Next Week.

So checked the weather for where I’ll be next week. It’s going to be pretty toasty over there!  Looking forward to it! :-P
