If you’ve never heard Marie (pronounced Mah-ree-aye) Digby’s cover of Rihanna’s Umbrella, then you probably have no idea who she is. Well, she’s one of those YouTube musician’s who put her cover songs on YouTube and got popular because of her Umbrella cover, then later on it was discovered that she was already a signed artist trying to get more buzz. ANYWAY, she’s actually talented and one of her original songs I absolutely love. It’s called Stupid For You.
I got her EP “Start Here” through iTunes, and you should too. It’s only $3.95. ![]()
LOL. My sister introduced me to this song and the dance makes it only more likable. Okay, so I’m not really really into rap, but every now and then I’ll give it a chance.
This Travis Barker ‘remix’ is cool, giving it a rock twist. I don’t know what it is but rockers that like rap appeal to me. Don’t ask why.
These guys actually can do the dance pretty good.
Learn how to do the Crank That Soulja Boy dance.
Oh how I love the internet and youtube. ![]()
So I ran my first 5k this morning and finished in 36:22. Placed 6th in my age group and feel more accomplished because I ran 3.2 miles! Okay so I didn’t run the entire thing, but I did finish the race!
Here’s me running towards the finish line! Yay!

Check out some more pictures here. You can read my entire experience on my workout blog here.
It’s really crazy how time flies. I probably wrote about 9/11 on my blog every year, but since I kept deleting my blog I don’t have it anymore. I went to Pace University and lived in the on campus dorms in NYC. If you don’t know where Pace is, it’s right across City Hall and literally a 5 minute walk from the WTC.
I was a sophomore and I decided to live in the dorm that year, and I was lucky enough to get housing at the on campus dorms, which is really tough to come by. I lived on the top floor, which was brand new. I remember classes just started a week ago and the night before 9/11, I was watching American Beauty all by myself with no knowledge of where my roommate was. I figured she was at her bf’s place so I wasn’t really worried. I remember leaving my window open and in the morning I kind of half woke up but the noise of so many sirens (an unusual amount of noise) and just wanting to fall back asleep. When I woke up again, it was to the sound of what I would later find out being the 2nd plane hitting the WTC. I ran out of my room so concerned I locked myself out and people on the floor were screaming and crying and when I saw the WTC on fire I was confused. Was it an accident? The sight of what I saw I can never really forget. The RA let me back into my room and I called my friend who I knew had classes in the morning and wondered if she got on the train. Luckily she didn’t. I turned on the TV and I then found out that it was a terrorist attack. The thought of that never really came into mind. I spoke to my parents and they were calm which helped me, but I was so scared that other buildings would be targets. I wanted to get out of there, but it was probably worse to be outside, so I just stayed close to the rest of the kids on the floor. Moments later, a bunch of us looked out the window and watched one of the towers collapse. Right before my eyes. I was thinking about the people who were there. OMG. Fast forward — we had to go into the gym and out of the dorms. I had my phone but no service. I was luckily able to get in touch with everyone that I was concerned about and tell them I was ok. The day felt like it was going on forever. CNN was on all the tvs and I later found out that other plane crashes occurred in DC and PA. Later on we were able to get back to our rooms but couldn’t leave grounds until the morning, and there was no electricity. It was DARK. I ended up sleeping in the lounge with some other kids I met who made me feel better. I was still scared that there would be more attacks. But there weren’t. We woke up and were told we had to leave grounds until further notice. So I packed up my things and along with 2 other people we walked to the nearest train station which was on 4th street. The walk was more than 20 blocks. As we walked out the streets were covered with ash, papers, briefcases, debris and I even saw a shoe. When we got to 4th street I took the PATH train to NJ where I got picked up to go home. I didn’t get to go back to school until 2 weeks later.
I remember when I used to go to school in South Jersey I could see NYC as we drove along the turnpike and I used to just stare at the WTC with the skyline. It was so beautiful. I remember thinking to myself, “I want to live in that city.” And that was a reason why I transferred to Pace.
It’s still hard to believe that it happened that long ago. Or that it even did happen.
After the iPod touch came out I was really excited about it and I even went to the Apple store to try to get my hands on one. The Apple store was packed btw, and I couldn’t even find a floor model! Since it looks really similar to the iPhone we (Glen & I) figured that was why there weren’t floor models. I then asked an employee and he said there wouldn’t be any in the store until a month from now but you could order from the Apple website. I came to the conclusion that it would be worth it to just get the iPhone over the ipod touch since it’s the same price, and if I was out and someone saw me with the ipod touch, they would think I was a iPhone user and I would frown and say no…it’s just the ipod touch, followed by the person being disappointed. LOL.
THEN, I stumbled upon this Gizmodo post about this software called iphoneSimFree that unlocks the iPhone so you can use it on any network (with a sim i suppose) and there was even a video taking you through the entire process to unlock it. They used a T-Mobile SIM and it indeed worked! Whoa cool! The downside is that the software is $100 which is pretty expensive for a unlock. In a way, it’s like you’re paying an extra hundred after they dropped the price of the iPhone itself. Yeesh. And with my luck, there would be a way to get it cheaper or even free. Wait wait wait is all I can do… If you’re creative and have an iPhone that you want to unlock, go to the Gizmodo website and tell them who would you call (from any time or space) and what you would say…
