I just stumbled upon this article from CNN about a couple in China wanting to name their child ‘@.’ Apparently in China ‘@’ means ‘love him.’
From the article:
The unusual name stands out especially in Chinese, which has no alphabet and instead uses tens of thousands of multi-stroke characters to represent words.
“The whole world uses it to write e-mail, and translated into Chinese it means ‘love him’,” the father explained, according to the deputy chief of the State Language Commission Li Yuming.
While the “@” symbol is familiar to Chinese e-mail users, they often use the English word “at” to sound it out — which with a drawn out “T” sounds something like “ai ta,” or “love him,” to Mandarin speakers.
I think it’s cute, but it would definitely be difficult calling his or her name out. ‘Aaaaaattt! It’s dinner time!’ Lol.
I don’t know about many of you, but I am a fan of the MTV show, The Hills. I’ve noticed that there are a few people I know who like the show too so I don’t feel so alone and loser-ish. I’ve been following the show since Season 1, and this season is really intense. Tensions are higher between the two ex best friends - Lauren and Heidi. If you haven’t seen the show and you lack the drama in your life, check this show out.
My personal thoughts about the first 2 episodes. I’m definitely Team Lauren - no one should have to deal with the rumors she did. Talk about embarrassing! That definitely stays with you especially if you’re in the public eye. Heidi was wrong for not admitting what she ‘did,’ and it’s kind of strange she invited Lauren and Audrina to the housewarming party knowing she said those ‘things’ about Lauren. That confrontation at the club was intense! Very entertaining though. I’m really looking forward to seeing more of Whitney since she’s not really in the spotlight as much as the other girls. Hopefully Audrina’s new boy won’t ruin Lauren and Audrina’s friendship too. I’ll probably have a The Hills update every week cuz it’s fun to talk about it…

On Friday, Glen graduated college! Myself along with his family attended his graduation commencement ceremony at 9am and he got to walk across the stage to be recognized. He looked so happy! Afterwards we celebrated with a yummy Red Lobster lunch. Check out some of the pictures uploaded via my Flickr.

Check out more in the set here.
Ok this is really weird, but it’s probably cool for the guys. The Piss Screen, they call it, is a interactive video game that is played by pissing into a urinal and looking at a screen in which you’re controlling a car.

According to the website:
The Piss-Screen - a pressure-sensitive inlay set within urinals, enabling users to play while they pee. We installed this newfangled creation in male restrooms across Frankfurt, teaming up with a variety of bars, clubs and cafés. The game itself was displayed on a screen above each urinal, and would automatically start as soon as someone began to pee. The player could then control the car whilst relieving himself – if they wanted the car to go right, they simply peed to the right (and visa versa).
The overall design of the driving game was similar in style to that of Need for Speed, requiring relatively quick reactions. Obviously the more drunk you are, the slower your response, reinforcing the effects of alcohol to the gamer. The game ultimately culminates in a shocking crash-sequence, leaving the viewer with little doubt as to the repercussions of driving while drunk.
Good idea? I guess…If it gets drunk drivers off the streets, then why not? Then again, not everyone listens. But it at least gives them a warning.
Saturday was a sad day for Glen and I. Snafu, his hamster passed away. He was sick and suffering for a week and Saturday he was gone. He lived for more than 2 years (hamsters only live for that long) so I would like to think he lived a long life. Glen got him when we first started dating. He was buried in Glen’s backyard and will definitely be missed. Every time I leave Glen’s house through the front door, I’ll always think of Snafu since that’s where his cage was. I still remember when he would run around Glen’s house in his clear ball and eat everything from doritos to fruits.
Here’s a picture of him eating a dorito, looking so youthful.

It’s always really heartbreaking to lose a pet, Snafu’s death reminded me of Maxie a lot. I still think about her everyday and miss her so much.
